Hey everyone I'm here to talk to you about Television history and what were the most popular shows of the times. It goes from 1950s all the way to 2000s. I hope you learn a lot from reading my blog. I never really got to talk to my mother about what kind of tv shows she watched when she was a teenager but I think that she watched M*A*S*H and a few other shows in her time
1950s
I love Lucy- This TV show was made in 1957. The main Characters in this television series are Lucille Ball played Lucy and Deso Arnaz plays the husban. I love Lucy is a comedy. Its about a cuban man married to a crazy red head.
1960s
The Addams Family- This TV show was made in 1964. The main Characters in this TV series is John Astin played as Gomez Addams, Carolyn Johns played as Morticia Addams, Jackie Coogan played as Uncle Fester, Ken Weatherwaz played as Pugsley Addams, Lisa Loring played as Wednesday Addams, Geliz Silla played Cousin Itt, Ted Cassidy played Lurch, and Blossom Rock played Grandmana Addams. The Television show was about a weird family but they all loved each other but all there neighbors were scared of them and called them monsters.
1970s
M*A*S*H- This television show was made in 1972. The people that played in this show are Alan Alda as captain "Hawkeye" Pierce, Wayne Rogers played Captain "trapper" John McIntyre, Mike Farrell played captain B.J. Hunnicutt, McLean Stevenson plays Lieutenant Colonel Henry Blake, Harry Morgan played Colonel Sherman T. Potter, Gary Burghoff played Corporal "Radar" O'Reilly, Loretta Swit played Major Margaret Houlihan, Wiiliam Christopher played as the Father Francis, and Jamie Farr played Corporal Maxwell Q. Klinger. This show was a comedy about doctors and nurses in a camp trying to save the lifes of military personnel in the Korean war.
1980s
Golden Girls- The Golden Girls was made in 1985. Its a comedy about four grown woman living together. All there spouses have died except for one but shes divorced but her ex still comes to see her. All the woman are middle aged. The main characters are Beatrice Arthur played as Dorothy Zbornak, Rue McClanahan played Blanche Devereaux, Betty White played Rose Nylund, Estelle Getty played Sophia Petrillo, Harold Goul played Miles Webber, and Herbert Edelman played as Stanley Zbornak.
1990s
Full house- full house started in late 80s early 90s. this show has many main characters in it like Bob Saget as Danny Tanner, Gave Coulier as Joey, John Stamos as jesse, Candace Cameron as D.J, Jodie Sweetin as Stephanie, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as Michelle, Lori Loughlin as Becky, and Andrea Barber as Kimmy Gibler. This TV series is a comedy about all these people living in one house. Dannys wife died soon after Michelle was born. Joey is Dannys best friends and Jesse is the brother in-law with Danny. So then they move in the same house as Danny to take care of Dannys 3 girls.
2000s
Monk- Monk started in 2002. its about this man with really bad OCD. No one wants to be around him because he see's things that no one else can see or they just look over. He also has many phobias as in germs, needles, milk, death, snakes, mushrooms, heights, crowds, and elevators. His wife died by a car bomb and hes still trying to figure it out to this day. The main people in this show are Tony Shalhoub as Adrian Monk, Jason Gray- Stanford as Randy, Ted Levine as Captain Leland Stottlemeyer, Bitty Schram as Sharona Monks assistant she was only there for a few years and then she quit, and Emmy Clarke as Julie Teeger is Monks assistant now.
So theres my Television history from the 1950s to 2000s. By looking at all the television shows I have looked at I would make a Television show about my life most likely and show how weird it can be.
The first little clip that I had watched was "These Hands." The whole video clip showed a lot of close-up shots. THey used them because it was important to the commercial that they get their point across. I think it was affective because it showed how carrying the mothers hands are.
The next video I had seen was " Right Arm." It was about blood pressure. it was also had a lot of close-up shots. they just took a video of a guy arm. it was very inaffective because it was hard to understand.
The last video that I had seen was "Mom." this video was also about blood pressure. It was a video about a woman explaining somethings. She looked very upset. This video was more effective because i could understand what she was feeling about things going on and that people should get there blood pressure checked.
